From upmarket resorts to simple bush camps, David Hancock has travelled to some of the most interesting and remote destinations of northern and outback Australia. His travel photography has graced the pages of national and international magazines, as well as Territory websites and brochures.
David has visited most national parks across northern Australia as well as a number of remote rock art sites in western and southern Arnhem Land. He travels by 4WD vehicle, light aircraft or helicopter to reach most locations.
David Hancock has published six books about the Top End : Top End by Australian Geographic, A Vision Fulfilled about construction of the Alice Springs to Darwin railway line, Walkabout Chefs which provides an insight to Aboriginal culture through food, TOP END life in Australia’s Top End, the definitive book about the region., and NT Sea Food, a book that takes readers into remote areas and waters that contain some of the best seafood in the world.
His latest book: Kuwarddewardde, the Stone Country takes the reader to the mysterious and ancient Arnhem Land plateau, one of the most remote parts of the world.
David Hancock tries to expose visitors and readers to exceptional locations; his travel photography often incorporates an indigenous cultural aspect, and highlights northern Australia’s great attractions – spectacular wildlife and wild country.
