Darwin photographer David Hancock enjoys wildlife photography and landscape photography whenever he takes to the bush. An enduring love of nature is reflected in David’s work, be it editorial or corporate.

David Hancock works regularly for Australian Geographic and Outback magazines, capturing images of nature, wildlife and people going about their business all over Australia, but mainly in the Top End and across the north.

His work takes him to national parks and remote areas, including Kakadu, Nitmiluk and Arnhem Land.

David Hancock has published six books about the Northern Territory: Top End by Australian Geographic, A Vision Fulfilled about construction of the Alice Springs to Darwin railway line, Walkabout Chefs which provides an insight to Aboriginal culture through food, TOP END life in Australia’s Top End, the definitive book about the region, and NT Sea Food, a book that takes readers into remote areas and waters that contain some of the best seafood in the world.

His latest book: Kuwarddewardde, the Stone Country is about the mysterious and ancient Arnhem Land plateau, one of the most remote parts of the world with endemic species of birds, animals, plants and insects.

David Hancock exhibits his nature and wildlife photographs at Gallery TwoSix in Darwin while thousands of images can be found in SkyScans photo library on this web site.

David travels throughout Outback Australia by 4WD and shoots from helicopters in isolated areas. His nature and wildlife photography is heavily influenced by seasonal change between the northern wet and dry periods.

David sometimes travels to other parts of Australia to shoot specific subjects such as koalas and whales around northern NSW.
